EcommerceOnline stores built for Canadian checkout reality: Shopify (a Canadian company, born in Ottawa), Interac-friendly payments, GST/HST/PST tax logic by province, and shipping wired for Canada Post — from our Manchester studio, quoted in CAD.
Selling online in Canada means solving tax, shipping and payments together. Thirteen provinces and territories with different tax combinations, cross-country shipping distances that dwarf the UK, and buyers who expect Interac at checkout. A generic theme store gets all three wrong.
We build on Shopify — fittingly, a Canadian company — plus WooCommerce and custom builds where the catalogue demands it. Every store handles provincial tax logic, Canada Post and courier shipping zones, bilingual storefronts for Quebec, and payment flows Canadians trust.
Design, build, product migration and launch are quoted in CAD against a written scope. Post-launch, we offer conversion optimisation and growth retainers on the same transparent basis.

Tax is the part most builds get wrong. GST at 5% federally, HST replacing it in Ontario and the Atlantic provinces, QST layered on in Quebec, separate PST in BC, Saskatchewan and Manitoba — and GST-only Alberta. Your checkout must apply the right combination by destination, and your invoices must show it. We configure and test the full matrix.
Shipping distances are a strategy question. Toronto to Vancouver is further than London to Moscow. Zone-based rates, free-shipping thresholds that survive the math, and Canada Post integration with tracking keep delivery promises you can afford.
Shopify is the natural fit — with caveats. Born in Ottawa, Shopify understands Canadian tax and shipping natively, and its ecosystem is deep. But Plus vs standard, Markets configuration and app sprawl all need judgement. We recommend the setup that fits your size, not the most expensive one.
Bilingual stores are a growth lever. A fully French storefront — not a translated theme with English checkout emails — opens Quebec properly. We build both languages end to end, including transactional email.

Shopify was founded in Ottawa and handles Canadian tax, shipping and payment realities natively. It is the default right answer for most Canadian catalogues — we will tell you honestly when WooCommerce or custom is better.
We configure the full provincial tax matrix: GST federally, HST where it applies, QST in Quebec, PST in BC, Saskatchewan and Manitoba — tested order by order before launch so customers are charged correctly wherever they are.
We build checkout flows around the payment methods Canadians expect, including Interac where your processor supports it, alongside cards and digital wallets — and we confirm exactly what is possible during scoping.
Zone-based rates configured for Canada Post and couriers, with tracking integrated and free-shipping thresholds modelled against real costs — so cross-country delivery does not eat your margin.
If you sell into Quebec, a fully bilingual store — products, checkout, transactional emails — is strongly recommended. Partial translations at checkout destroy trust at the worst moment.
