How to use this invoice generator

  1. Pick your country preset. It sets the currency, the tax name and the standard rate — UK VAT at 20%, Saudi VAT at 15%, UAE and Oman at 5%, Bahrain at 10%, and no general VAT for Qatar or Kuwait. Every rate stays editable per item.
  2. Add your business details once. Tick "remember" and they are stored only in this browser, on this device, ready for the next invoice. Your logo never leaves your machine.
  3. Fill in the customer and the items. Quantities, prices, per-item tax rates, a pre-tax discount and any part-payment — the totals, including a tax breakdown by rate, update live in the preview.
  4. Print or save as PDF and send it. Making a quote instead? Flip the switch at the top — same details, titled as a quote with a "valid until" date.

What a proper invoice has to include

An invoice is a legal document, not just a request for money, and in most countries the rules are specific. A UK VAT invoice must show your business name and address, your VAT registration number, a unique invoice number, the invoice date and the date of supply, a clear description of the goods or services, the amount excluding VAT, the VAT rate and amount, and the total payable — this generator's layout puts every one of those on the page. Gulf invoices follow the same skeleton with local twists: the UAE charges 5% VAT and expects your Tax Registration Number (TRN) on the document; Saudi Arabia charges 15% and its larger businesses now issue fully electronic invoices through the ZATCA system, QR code included, which a browser tool cannot replace — treat this generator as your everyday invoicing for standard transactions, and take advice before relying on it for regulated Saudi B2B e-invoicing. Bahrain (10%) and Oman (5%) run conventional VAT invoices; Qatar and Kuwait currently have no general VAT to charge. Whatever the country, the habits that get invoices paid are the same everywhere: number them without gaps, send them the day the work is done, state the due date plainly, and put the bank details on the invoice itself rather than in a separate email. Businesses that outgrow paper-chasing usually end up with their invoicing inside a CRM, where quotes convert to invoices and reminders send themselves — that is exactly the kind of system our CRM development team builds, and the invoices you raise there stop depending on anyone remembering.

Your data stays on your device — by design

Most free invoice tools ask you to create an account and store your invoices — your prices, your clients, your cashflow — on their servers, because that data is the product. This one works the other way round. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded, tracked or kept. The optional "remember" feature uses your own browser's local storage for your business details only, and the Forget button wipes it instantly. It is the same privacy pattern as the rest of our free tools: the tool is the marketing, your data is not.

FAQs

Invoice generator questions answered

Is this invoice generator really free?

Yes — completely free, with no signup, no watermark and no limit on the number of invoices or quotes you create. It is one of the free tools we publish so businesses find us before they need us.

Where does my invoice data go?

Nowhere. The generator runs entirely in your browser: nothing you type is uploaded, sent to our servers or shared. If you leave "remember my business details" switched on, your own business name, address, tax number, logo and bank details are saved only in your own browser's local storage, on your device, so you do not retype them. Client details and invoice items are never saved. Clear them any time with the "Forget my details" button.

How do I save my invoice as a PDF?

Click "Print / Save as PDF". In the print window choose "Save as PDF" (Chrome, Edge) or "PDF → Save as PDF" (Safari) as the destination. The page is formatted so only the invoice sheet prints, on A4, without the website around it.

Can I invoice in Gulf currencies with VAT?

Yes. Presets cover the UK (VAT 20%), UAE (5%), Saudi Arabia (15%), Bahrain (10%) and Oman (5%), plus Qatar and Kuwait, which currently have no general VAT, and you can set any rate per line. One honesty note: fully regulated Saudi B2B e-invoicing requires a ZATCA-integrated system with a QR code — this tool produces clean standard invoices and quotes for everyday trading, not ZATCA-phase-2 e-invoices.

Can I make a quote instead of an invoice?

Yes — switch the document type to Quote at the top. The layout, pricing and tax maths are identical; the document is titled Quote, numbered separately, and the due date becomes a "valid until" date. When the customer accepts, switch back to Invoice and the same details become your invoice.
