Learn & Drive — Manchester Driving School

Learn & Drive is a booking and learning platform for a Manchester driving instructor network, built to replace a website that — like most in the industry — was quoting inconsistent prices and displaying unverifiable pass-rate claims.

THE PROBLEM
Driving-school sites typically bolt a contact form onto a set of static pages. There is no real availability engine, no way for a learner to actually practise DVSA theory and hazard perception on the site itself, and — common enough to be an industry pattern — marketing copy that states a pass rate or review score nobody can substantiate.

WHAT WE BUILT
A full DVSA-aligned theory test engine with seven distinct modes — a 50-question mock scored against the real 43-to-pass threshold, an unmarked simulator run under real conditions, a fast diagnostic, single-topic practice, and a challenge mode that rebuilds itself from a learner's own past mistakes. Hazard perception uses the same scoring model as the real test — five-to-one decaying points per developing hazard, a 44-of-75 pass mark, and the same anti-spam logic that zeroes out metronomic clicking — built from either officially licensed DVSA clips or original footage, never scraped content passed off as official.

Booking runs on a real availability engine: instructors publish free slots, learners book manual or automatic lessons and intensive courses, and Stripe handles packages, deposits and refunds with webhook-verified payment state rather than a manual bank-transfer honesty system. Area-coverage pages, a blog and CMS, and a full technical SEO toolkit (sitemaps, IndexNow, redirect management) support organic growth in specific Manchester postcodes.

The one deliberate constraint worth stating plainly: the platform will not render a pass rate, review score or testimonial that isn't backed by real data supplied by the client — the schema and copy generators refuse to fabricate a statistic, which is a design decision, not an oversight, given how common invented figures are on competitor sites in this exact industry.

RESULT
A platform built on real DVSA scoring logic and genuine availability data, with organic search infrastructure and payment processing that didn't exist on the previous site — and an explicit refusal to publish the kind of unverifiable claims that are the industry norm.
