Bellwether [AR]T set out to reinvent how people experience art by transforming traditional, paper-based artwork into immersive augmented experiences. Static pieces become animated, layered and interactive when viewed through a phone, adding a new dimension to galleries, exhibitions and collectible prints.
The Challenge
Artists and galleries wanted to bridge the gap between physical artwork and digital interactivity, giving audiences a richer, more memorable way to engage with pieces — and giving artists a new creative and commercial canvas.
Our Solution
Using Unity and AR Foundation, we built an image-target AR layer over physical artworks so that pointing a device at a piece reveals hidden animation, motion and depth. We carefully preserved the integrity of the original art while adding a complementary digital experience, and made activation as simple as opening the camera.
The Result
The project gave artists a striking new medium and galleries a compelling reason for visitors to engage more deeply and share their experience. It demonstrated how AR can add value to physical art without diminishing it — opening new creative and revenue possibilities.
