AR/VR for History & Tourism

Client: Museum & Tourism

This project brings history and heritage to life through augmented and virtual reality, letting visitors stand in the present while seeing the past rebuilt around them — reconstructed monuments, historical figures and events layered onto real locations or explored from anywhere in the browser.

The Challenge

Heritage sites and tourism boards wanted to make history more engaging and accessible, especially for younger visitors, and to offer remote audiences a way to experience landmarks they couldn't visit in person.

Our Solution

We combined Unity, AR Foundation and 8th Wall to deliver both on-site AR (reconstructions anchored to real locations) and browser-based virtual experiences accessible from anywhere. Historical scenes, figures and information were rendered in 3D and presented through intuitive, no-app experiences suitable for visitors of all ages.

The Result

The experience deepened visitor engagement and understanding, extended each site's reach to global audiences, and gave tourism partners a modern, shareable attraction that set them apart — proving AR/VR is a powerful tool for heritage and education.
